M1 is the remnants of a supernova recorded by Chinese scholars in 1054. The pulsar in the center is all that remains of the star and is only several miles in diameter, but more massive than the Sun. Located in Taurus. See this HST and Chandra X-ray Observatory image and movie of the pulsar above.
